The WGA has announced the 2023 Writers Guild Awards feature film nominations, consisting of original, adapted and documentary screenplays. See the full list below.
Up for Original Screenplay is the scripts for Everything, everywhere, everything at once, The Fabelmans, The Menu, No and tar. Compete for a custom script Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, she said, Top Gun: Maverick and women talk.
Of the 10 nominees in the non-doc feature races, four differ from the Oscar nominations revealed Tuesday: The menu and no in the original and Wakanda forever and she said in habit.
Deadline’s Awards columnist Pete Hammond noted this month that the now Oscar-nominated original screenplays for The Banshees by Inisherin and triangle of sadness are not eligible for WGA consideration, nor are the Academy’s appropriate nominees No news from the western front and life. Such exclusions occur every year because pictures eligible for the WKV must be written according to the guild’s minimum basic agreement or a bona fide collective agreement between several international WKV members.
This is different from other guild competitions, including DGA, SAG and PGA Awards.
Meanwhile for the WGA Documentary Screenwriting Award 2nd Chance, Doom: The Case Against Boeing, Last Flight Home, Moonage Daydream and ¡Viva Maestro!
