According to NATAS, the Tech & Engineers Emmy is awarded to a living individual, company or scientific or technical organization for the development and / or standardization involved in engineering technologies that are far-reaching improvements to existing methods or of such an innovative nature that they have had a significant impact on television. They are nominated by a committee of engineers working in television, which examines the technical development of the industry and determines which one deserves the award.
Tonight he also honored a couple of television technology pioneers: Maurice LeBlanc, for his first offering of a color television and the use of a cathode ray tube, and Paul Nipkoff, who created the entire TV system and who was the first to patent it.
“The Technology and Engineering Emmy Award was the first Emmy Award awarded in 1949 and laid the foundation for the future of all other Emmy Awards,” said Adam Sharp, president and CEO of NATAS. “We are very pleased with the respect of these prestigious companies, always in association with NAB, where innovation, technology and emotion can cross paths in the future of television.
