Melanie C has admitted getting back on stage with Victoria Beckham is her “ultimate dream” – as fashion designer Posh wished her former Spice Girls bandmates a happy new year on Saturday.
The Spice Girls regrouped without Posh for a stadium tour three years ago and although the group – which also includes Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner – had an “amazing time”, they would love to tour as a quintet again .
Melanie (48) said: “We were received so beautifully, we had the most incredible time.
Life in hope: Melanie C, 48, admitted being back on stage with Victoria Beckham is her ‘ultimate dream’
“That was the moment we realized the impact we had on a whole generation of people. We really want to get back on the podium, we keep talking about it. It just navigates everyone’s life, work and family.’
When asked if there will be another reunion with Victoria, she added The Times’ Saturday Review: “It would be the ultimate dream. The door is always open to Victoria, we would love to see her again. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.”
And the Northern Star hitmaker admitted the band would particularly like to perform at the world-famous Glastonbury festival.

Looking ahead: Melanie’s comments came as Victoria, 48, took to Instagram on Saturday to send her best wishes to her former Spice Girls bandmates ahead of the New Year
She said: “One day the Spice Girls would be amazing. We want to bring this stage to life.”

Meanwhile, Melanie admitted that the sexism the Spice Girls faced in the early days of their career “driven them” and that they are “really proud” of their girl power message.
She said they knew they had a point to prove and “came out naively as young women” not knowing what they would be up against.
The pop star praised the platform the Spice Girls gave members to help them make a difference and open doors for other women.

Born to perform: Northern Star hitmaker Mel also admitted the band would particularly like to perform at the world famous Glastonbury festival (LR Geri, Victoria, Emma, Mel B and Mel C pictured in 1998)
She added that they are part of a “bigger movement” but the group is making feminism “more appealing to younger audiences”.
It comes after the Spice Girls were left red-faced after an unreleased song with an X-rated cut leaked nearly 30 years after it was recorded.
The song, titled CU Next Tuesday, was recorded for their debut album Spice and a demo of it was leaked onto the internet this week due to an unexplained security breach.
All four members of the band and Victoria are said to be embarrassed by the leak because the title is a euphemism for a four-letter phrase.
Last year, the band released Spice 25 to celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary, featuring unreleased demos and remixes, but CU Next Tuesday didn’t make it.
Mel C previously opened up about her distaste for the song, saying: “CU Next Tuesday was never used because it’s a load of shit. It would be a huge rip off for Virgin to put it on an album by the greatest hits.”
A source told The Sun: “The Spice Girls are all in a very different place in their lives now than when this song was first written as a tongue-in-cheek song in the 1990s.
Of course, given the ridiculous title, it’s a little embarrassing since they won’t be using the C-word in their own lives. It’s a bit of a mystery how the hell it got out, but they don’t think much of it.
The insider added that the girls hope the song will eventually be forgotten.
They said: “The band have other projects they’re looking forward to in 2023, so they’re focusing on that and hoping this song – which they never really liked – will be forgotten.”
MailOnline has reached out to Spice Girls representatives for comment.
