Rosie O’Donnell pays tribute to ‘legend’ Barbara Walters after her death at 93: Watch the tribute

When it’s time to say goodbye, it’s also time to put the past into the past. After hearing the news of BarbaraWalterdeath of comedian and daytime talk show host Rosie O’Donnell he was one of the first to pay his respects. The duo famously co-hosted Intuition together in the early 2000s, and taking to her Instagram, Rosie looks back on that time together by posting what appears to be a photo of them backstage at the show.

Both women dressed in white, Rosie kept her message to the iconic and trailblazing Barbara with a simple yet powerful message in her caption. “Legend”, she wrote, before wishing him to rest in peace. She also posted a video, talking about the “barriers” Barbara has broken down for women and all the good times together going to Broadway shows together. “I’ve been fortunate to be in her orbit for many years.”

Barbara created the all-female talk show on ABC in 1997. Although she retired as co-host in 2014 after 16 seasons, the reporter continued to serve as executive producer until her death. For her part, Rosie had two terms on the jury: the first from 2006-2007 and the second from 2014-2015. Although Rosie paints a picture of a sweet friendship between the women, the women reportedly argued while working on the show together and Barbara was very unhappy with the amount of negative attention. Intuition won due to Rosie’s outspokenness and disputes with other guests.

Inside Ramin Setoodehbook of, Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View, Rosie is said to have not gotten along with the then-executive producer Bill Geddy — so much so that Barbara threatened to quit if Rosie re-signed with the show. Rosie was eliminated in the season finale, only to return when Barbara retired.

But things change, people grow up and I hear her say, Rosie and Barbara have become friends rather than fights. This is what you like to hear.
