Matt Lucas revealed on Saturday that he was embarrassed to see Arsenal play Manchester United at London’s Emirates Stadium.
The 47-year-old comedian took to Twitter to share the unusual encounter after fans previously praised his hard-hitting weight loss journey.
He claimed that he “got a lot” during a performance in Lorraine just last year, adding: “I’m still having some trouble.”

But after looking visibly leaner over the past few months, Matt’s weight loss has clearly garnered attention as he shares this unpleasant experience with his social media followers.
He wrote: ‘Shout out to the woman who kept me from football today to tell me why I lost weight and looked so much older.
“For the first time in my life, I think I was embarrassed,” he added.

Fans immediately rushed to Matt’s defense, leaving a series of heartwarming comments among them, including “You’re amazing and most of all, you’re happy.”
Another wrote, “You look really younger and very beautiful, I think you’re amazing.”
Someone reassured Matt and said, “I’ve had the same thing when I lose weight, don’t lose any more, you’re getting too thin. You can’t win, people always want to point out the obvious and then act like you did something wrong. I think you look great and I don’t understand all the fat and thin embarrassment, let people be themselves’

When Matt appeared in Lorraine last May, he showed off his stylish new build after admitting he had gained weight during the block.
She admitted she was impressed by the 61-year-old host, Lorraine Kelly, who was “still having some trouble” after deciding it was time to lose weight.
While Lorraine commented on her physique, Matt said: “I lost some weight, I had to push myself to the limits because I gained a lot of weight during the block. I’m still a little nervous.
Since Matt has stated that she isn’t “Skinny Minnie” yet, Lorraine told the Little Britain star she’d look “dumb” if her weight dropped too low.
In April 2020, Matt admitted that he wanted to “get fit” during his quarantine after hearing that he had “made some money”.
He made this comment during another appearance on the ITV show, “All I have to do is get in shape, I’ve gained some weight, this is my next mission to get some more exercise.

Matt took the doctor’s warning seriously after his father, John, tragically passed away in 1996 to a heart attack.
