New stills from the upcoming television series Brothers, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, have been published online by Vanity Fair ahead of its September 23 premiere on Apple TV.
The project follows McConaughey and Harrelson playing versions of themselves as they move their respective families onto a single ranch in Texas. Their friendship comes under threat when the two actors discover that they may actually be real brothers.
The show co-stars Holland Taylor, who appeared in The Truman Show, alongside Natalie Martinez of Death Race and Brittany Ishibashi of Eagle Eye. Lee Eisenberg, a producer on the comedy series The Office, serves as one of the creators of the show.
Cast and production background
McConaughey and Harrelson are longtime friends and frequent collaborators who previously co-starred in the 1999 comedy film EDtv and the first season of the HBO crime drama series True Detective. McConaughey won an Academy Award for Best Actor for Dallas Buyers Club, while Harrelson is a three-time Oscar nominee known for roles in Cheers, Natural Born Killers, and The People vs. Larry Flynt.
Taylor is an Emmy Award-winning veteran actress whose long career includes starring roles on Two and a Half Men and The Practice.
