Actor Brad Pitt was mobbed by crowds of fans as he arrived at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain on Sunday to promote his upcoming film.
The 62-year-old Academy Award-winning star traveled to the northern Spanish city for the 74th edition of the annual international film festival. He is appearing at the event to promote his new survival thriller, Heart of the Beast.
Upon landing in the city, Pitt headed directly to the Maria Cristina Hotel, a historic luxury hotel known for accommodating visiting international cinema stars. Large crowds lined the surrounding streets to catch a glimpse of the actor as he arrived at the venue.
Pitt stepped out in a smart casual outfit, wearing a blue suede jacket, dark sunglasses, a denim cap, and light grey trousers as he greeted the waiting public.
Report Details Spiraling Marriage
The public appearance comes shortly after an exclusive report detailed statements from friends of the actor regarding his past marriage to actress Angelina Jolie. The report described how his marriage to Jolie sent his life spiraling and called the relationship the worst thing that ever happened to him.
A source close to Pitt stated that the actor had worked hard on himself following the relationship and has now reached a positive period in his life. The source told reporters: "He never had a drink problem, he had an Angelina problem. He's worked hard on himself and he's now, finally, in a really good place."
Pitt and Jolie, 51, officially separated in September 2016 following two years of marriage and a long-term relationship. While Pitt has increasingly stepped out in public with his girlfriend of nearly four years, 33-year-old Ines de Ramon, Jolie has focused on her global projects and family.
Jolie Prepares for Nomadic Travel
The actor's arrival in Spain also follows recent public comments made by Jolie regarding her future travel plans. In an interview published on September 9 with L'Officiel USA, the Oscar-winning actress stated that she is prepared to leave the United States and adopt a more nomadic lifestyle now that her youngest children have reached adulthood.
Jolie recently listed her mansion in the hillside Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz for $29.85 million. She acknowledged in the interview that she is currently experiencing the end of a certain chapter in her personal life.
When asked whether she planned to relocate from Los Angeles to New York, Jolie explained that she intended to spend more time abroad. She noted that while she wants a home base for family photos and maternal items, she plans to travel extensively without a permanent single base.
The actress is no longer bound to reside in Los Angeles under the terms of her custody agreement with Pitt. That agreement required her minor children to remain close to their father until reaching the age of 18.
Children Reach Adulthood
All six of the former couple's children are now legal adults. The children include Maddox, 25, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and 18-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Four of the children, including Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne, have taken formal legal steps to drop Pitt from their surnames, changing their last names to Jolie. Knox and Pax have not submitted legal petitions to alter their names.
Jolie is currently expanding her creative house, Atelier Jolie, with plans to establish international spaces outside the United States, including a potential location in Brazil. She also plans to return to Cambodia to conduct hands-on work with the Maddox Foundation, a conservation and community development non-profit, while hosting a residency for Khmer culture at her Cambodian home.
