Pole dancing (aka pole dancing) began to gain popularity among other sports relatively recently. For many years it was unfairly overshadowed by more popular fields like TRX or CrossFit. They asked the master of rhythmic gymnastics and the founder of the Premium pole dance studio network how pole dancing simultaneously improves plasticity and endurance.

Why is pole dancing not a striptease?

Pole dancing has not yet been officially recognized as a sport in Russia. And many still draw a parallel between it and striptease. Pole dance is a type of pole dance that combines elements of acrobatics, choreography and gymnastics. They have different categories: for example, “exotic” or “sporty”, when classes are held in high heels – these are mainly power tricks.

A distinctive feature of sports is that all muscle groups are involved in training – it is necessary to keep the body under control and balance, otherwise the element may not work.


How does pole dance affect the figure?

Pole exercises don’t help build muscle as much as strength training at the gym. But working with your own weight has its advantages – the body becomes “drier”, relief appears in the form of saintly pressing cubes. All the load falls on the arms and abdominal muscles, thanks to which most of the tricks are performed. At the same time, you do not have to worry about the shoulders – they will not be wider, but relief will appear.

It’s pretty hard to keep yourself on the pole, so you can burn up to 800 calories in one session. With determined training, the metabolism accelerates, which helps the body to lose calories faster and, therefore, lose weight. An intense warm-up before training also contributes to the development of endurance. Jumping cardio and stretching helps to improve the functioning of the heart and the cardiovascular system as a whole.

Pole dance is not only about power, but also about femininity. Much attention is paid to the smoothness of movements in the classroom. Therefore, the result of training on the pylon is not only a relief trunk, but also plasticity and flexibility.
