Like smoky ice in the makeup world, curls in the styling world – a classic you can always be sure of. And against the background of general nostalgia for the trends of the nineties and zeroes, “smoky” makeup has become even more popular. Says RBG makeup artist Natalia Grebenkina (video attached) and how to do it yourself so you don’t become Uncle Fester from the Addams Family.

Stage 1

To make your life easier, start by drawing the future shape of the eye makeup. The easiest way to do this is to sculpt a shade darker than the skin. Apply to the crease of the upper eyelid, mixing at the temples and along the growth of the eyelashes along the lower eyelid.

step 2

To achieve the effect of haze, the pencil must be shaded, so it must be soft. Apply to the movable eyelid and carefully distribute along the edge with a densely packed round brush.

Stage 3

Using the same technique, pass the pencil along the lower eyelid and blend it well, combining it with the upper shading in the outer corner of the eye. Here it is better to use a small flat brush.

Step 4

With a felt-tip pen, circle the ciliary contour of the upper and lower eyelids and do not forget about the mucous membrane. This will add depth to the look and regularity and clarity to the makeup.

Step 5

Mix the black border with adjacent shades – brown, gray or wet asphalt color. This will result in a smooth gradient from dark to light.

Step 6

Use a corrector and a flat brush to clean the under eye area. This will refresh the look and make the smoky look look neat and “clean”.

Step 7

Using a felt-tip pen, draw the inner corner of the eye (almost Cleopatra style). In the lacrimal pool, draw a small arrow connecting the upper and lower eyelids.

Step 8

Apply the mascara on the lashes starting from the very bottom and spreading it like a fan. Apply with a second coat to increase the volume effect. In the classic smoky model it is better to make up for the lower eyelashes.
