How long have you been using sunscreen powder or bronzing powder when applying makeup? The truth is, it doesn’t matter, we know there are some things you’re definitely doing wrong when applying it… According to Begoña Gómez, Yves Rocher’s treatment expert, these are the biggest “sins” when it comes to about applying a tanned effect to the face -and the reasons why it doesn’t work-. Take note!
- Do not remove excess product: After picking up, always shake the excess over the sink or by tapping the brush on your wrist. Otherwise the skin will have to deal with an ‘overload’ of make-up.
- Rest the brush on the skin: Not the best way to extend them. The perfect movement should cause a gentle tingle in the face.
- Extend them diagonally: It may seem the most logical, but it’s not about accentuating the cheekbones, it’s about distributing the color evenly over the face and neck. To do this, nothing beats making large and circular concentric movements.
- Spread them evenly on the face: It is the first ‘clue’ revealing that it is not a ‘true’ color. Does the sun tan your entire face evenly? It involves affecting with greater intensity the prominent areas: forehead, nose, chin and cheekbones.
- Choosing a tone that is too dark: It only has to be 1 or 2 shades above your skin tone… and of course you have to keep in mind how the color changes as the summer progresses. The ideal is to choose one tone for the first few weeks and a dark one for the last few weeks.
- Without considering the environment: It is a mistake to think that makeup products cannot be sustainable. Did you know that there are 100% recyclable containers and packaging that help conserve forests?
