If the variety of products in our toiletry bag increases, it is much more because of the diversity of textures in which we find each of these products. And while there are plenty to choose from, cream makeup products are the ones that are becoming the kings of the collections. And there’s more than one reason for that. We’ll tell you why you’re going to use cream products (if you don’t already) and we’ll give you the basics to do so.
Easier to use: Cream makeup products are perfect for those who need a quick and easy application. And it is that, they can be applied with brushes and sponges as well as with the fingers themselves without affecting the coverage and can also be extended with them, making them much more precise. A top product? The highlighter stick with a radiant finish of Kiko Milano (€9.99), with a creamy formula enriched with jojoba oil and a high percentage of mother-of-pearl that adheres perfectly to the skin.
You use less product: Thanks to that texture which is more or less runny, but more compact than powder, so much more pigmented, it allows us to use a much fairer and more necessary amount of product. Another of our favorite cream products? ‘s ModCon blush KVD Beauty (27.99 euros), in an ultra-light and long-lasting liquid gel, which gives the face a fresh and modern pink glow.
Easier to modulate: Again, because of the texture, it is much easier to take more or less product and increase the intensity of the application as desired. For example, try Kiko Milano’s matte finish facial contour stick (€9.99), with a formula enriched with kola nut oil and pistachio extract, with emollient properties and which allows to model the volumes of the face, allowing play of light and subtle shadows.
They look better: The powder is much more volatile and therefore much more sensitive to external influences. The cream, which dries after application, adheres much better to the surface and withstands much more “aggressions” than other textures. For example, we love the Eyes To Mesmerise eyeshadows from Charlotte Tilbury (27.99 euros), with a highly pigmented melting formula that does not fade in the delicate eye area and has brightening pigments with a “soft focus” effect that blur expression lines
They last much longer: For the same reason, a cream make-up lasts much longer than a make-up made with other types of products, so you hardly need a make-up fixative. Another cream product we love? The Soft Matte Complete Concealer from Nars (30.99 euros), a creamy concealer that instantly refines, hides and smoothes imperfections and helps improve the appearance of the skin in the long term, as well as providing coverage with a perfectly natural soft matte finish on the most marked dark circles.
