My approach to choosing shades of all makeup products is a little different than usual. I’m sure different genres can use absolutely any tone. Some tend to enhance features of eye or skin color, while others play beautifully with contrast. By the way, the idea of ​​\u200b\u200bcontrast makeup promises to become one of the main trends of the coming year.

In other words, when choosing lipstick, we start from the effect we want to achieve, not from specific features. So here are a few important points to keep in mind.

The most difficult colors in lip makeup (and not only) are brown and brick, as they do not always give the desired freshness. Brick, for example, tends to “weight down” the face and emphasize flaws (for example, imperfect tooth color or slightly altered lower third). Therefore, you need to treat it very carefully or give preference to peach, soft pink and lilac flowers. They suit everyone without exception.

No matter how much we resist, as we get older, the volume of the lips decreases and their shape becomes less distinct. Therefore, the fastest way to “get younger” is to plump your lips. A pencil of the most neutral color can help with this. They need to outline the contour, going a little beyond what is natural. Then apply nude gloss or lipstick.

I do not recommend using bright colors for overly visible wrinkles around the lips. This way we will only point out the flaws. But if your soul needs paint, apply concealer to the outer corners first. Then apply the lipstick using your fingertips to get the effect of kissed lips.

If you are still putting off meeting red lipstick, I have good news for you: It looks good on absolutely everyone. In addition, with its help you can make your image bright in a few seconds. Also, let’s not forget the energy message it creates.

If you don’t want to go deep into the subtle color nuances of red lipsticks, choose one with a cool undertone. It is suitable for all skin types and visually makes tooth enamel and eye whites lighter.

If you want to “play” with red lipstick, we will achieve a bright visual effect by using a pencil tone half a tone darker and slightly cooler than the lipstick itself.

And I repeat: be careful with brick ones: they have an anti-aging effect, so I would not recommend them to adult girls. Also, when using them, you need to make sure that the skin is flawless, with no visible blood vessels or redness on it.

Fine line

What I definitely do not recommend for people with thin lips is excessive use of matte lipsticks. This texture makes them even thinner. It is better to pay attention to shiny ones. You can also use a defined lip contour – a sort of throwback to the ’90s. True, unlike then, now we make it more shaded. In this case, the combination of brown contour and light nude lipstick will work with bangs. Working with chiaroscuro, your lips will visually become more voluminous.

You can also use a sculptor to visually enlarge them. Shadow can be created by applying a translucent, cool brown color above and below the lip area with a fluffy brush. It is important to lightly tint the lip area before doing this to make the shade more even and uniform.

Miss Versatility

Nude shades of lipsticks and lip glosses are what I call “wardrobe essentials.” Choose those with lilac, berry or watermelon undertones. They will make your own lip tone much brighter, richer and more attractive. Remember that the glossy surface is what adds volume.
