In our “Help Case” section we tell you what to do in case of various beauty incidents. How to fix a broken nail, revive dried mascara or remove foundation from clothes – we will answer one question in each material. Next is the problem that causes us to wear turtlenecks to school, buy the thickest concealer, and tell our parents we burned ourselves with an iron. You probably noticed that we are talking about very strong kisses, and sometimes bites – hickeys. They will disappear on their own after a few days, but if you can’t wait, here are ways to help you remove the mark sooner or at least hide it.
Method number 1: using a whisk
The quickest way to minimize hickey’s rash is to use a kitchen whisk. Apply to the kiss mark and begin intensively massaging the skin in a circle (clockwise and counterclockwise), dispersing the bruise. After five minutes of such exposure, you will see that the bruises have significantly reduced. Important: the method will work if no more than a day has passed since the appearance of Hickey.
Method number 2: using compresses
You should apply an ice pack to the area within the first 24 hours after Hickey appears. Cold causes blood vessels to constrict and reduce blood flow, causing the hematoma to become less red and noticeable. Ice wrapped in a napkin or a towel soaked in ice water will work. If more than a day has passed since Hickey’s appearance, you can switch to warm compresses. This method will not completely eliminate the red spot, but will make it visually smaller and paler.
Method number 3: using toothpaste
Toothpaste cannot be used only for its intended purpose. The product copes with redness and swelling. But you need to use it carefully. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the hickey area (it is better to choose herbal ones with anti-inflammatory components), leave it for about an hour, and then rinse with cold water. The procedure can be repeated several times a day. Hickey will turn pale and the healing process will speed up.
Method number 4: use of pharmaceutical products
If more than a day has passed since Hickey’s appearance, pharmaceutical creams and gels are used to heal the bruises. They work for a long time – they improve blood circulation and gradually heal damaged skin. Such products should be applied to a bruise or pimple every day (some ointments even several times a day – be sure to read the instructions for use) until complete healing.
Method number 5: using makeup
This is the best time to show what your inner makeup artist can do. The procedure is as follows:
— First, apply a primer to the desired area of \u200b\u200bthe skin – this will serve as a base and prolong the durability of the subsequent makeup (or rather, camouflage). Give the product time to dry.
— Apply the color corrector with gentle tapping movements, as if you were applying it to the skin. A hickey changes color over time and becomes similar to a regular bruise, so the color of correctors at its different stages should be different. If the hickey is purple-red, you will need a green concealer. If it turns black and blue, use a corrector with red or orange tones (can be replaced with lipstick or blush). If it is green-yellow, use a corrector with a purple tint.
– You can now switch to your regular foundation concealer. Apply it over the corrector (again, using tapping motions) and let it dry.
– Secure everything with powder.
The concealer can be extended beyond the hickey area to keep the masked area inconspicuous.
