Experts Explain Why Zoomers Look Worse Than Millennials

The Daily Mail expressed an unpopular opinion: Zoomers look older than Millennials, but it’s generally accepted that the former are more knowledgeable about personal care. Experts attribute this trend to two main factors: vaping and protective cosmetology.

People born between 1980 and 1997 age much more slowly than the generations before and after them. The fact is that in the arsenal of generation Born in the heyday of cosmetology, millennials have learned to play by the rules; so the rejuvenation methods worked.

“Millennials tend to be more knowledgeable about skin care and nutrition than previous generations and generally take a more holistic approach to health. This shift includes a greater emphasis on preventative skin care methods and a balanced diet,” says esthetician Rasha Rakhshani-Moghadam in an interview with the Daily Mail. Zoomers began to enjoy the benefits of cosmetology very early. Excessive or unnecessary use of fillers and botulinum toxin at a young age can affect the natural development of the face. As a result, young patients will appear older than they actually are. Moreover, once you start down the path of enhancement (using fillers and Botox injections), it’s difficult to go back to a completely natural look.

Experts also add that this is an appropriate age to begin anti-aging cosmetic interventions, and for most people this does not happen until age 30.

Another reason why today’s 18-20 year old celebrities look older than the generation before them is their love for electronic cigarettes. Generation Y, often referred to as the “healthy lifestyle generation”, drinks and smokes less than other generations. Zoomers use electronic cigarettes more than other age groups. The likelihood of premature facial aging triples in smokers.

Among other factors that negatively affect the appearance of Zoomers, experts highlight stress, ecology and marketing. By the latter they mean advertising of constantly renewed skin care products that the younger generation does not always need. Ultimately, the products you use need to be suitable for your age as well as your skin type.
