Marta Sierra, the queen of transitions

Marta Sierra (1994), known as the queen of transitions, has over a million followers on her Instagram profile. She is the first influencer to collaborate with Zara and has even collaborated with Coco Rocha herself. We spoke to her about her famous roles, her collaborations and her beauty tips.

How did you get started in the world of networking?

It was a bit coincidental. We were still studying, I was in biotechnology and my friend, Tom, in law. Ever since I was little I have loved photography and thought “why don’t we try to do something”. It was all very informal. We started experimenting and taking pictures of my outfits, it was not professional at all and we had no experience. But we keep growing, we did everything together from the beginning.

You are known as the queen of transitions. How long does it take to make one reel

When editing, it’s not so much because it’s more important to capture it perfectly. It is the part that takes the most time. But it depends a lot on the reel type, as there are some that are shot with a single style but in different locations – this takes us less time because I don’t have to change my outfit – and others that are more complicated, with a lot of looks. We can even spend several hours doing this. There are also roles that we shot on different days. We often shoot different parts of different videos in one day.

Did a funny or embarrassing situation happen to you while you were shooting a reel?

enough [ríe]† Considering the poses I do in some of the videos, yes, there have been quite a few falls.

You will be the first ‘influencer’ to work with Zara.

Yes, it came out in a very organic way. They contacted me once and I found the project very interesting. Everything was very fast. I loved that they were very interested in my type of reels, because that’s why they gave me complete creative freedom to execute the concept. I like working with brands that are like that. In the end, the result is much better if you feel comfortable with what you are doing. I am very proud and happy with how it turned out.

You’ve also worked with Coco Rocha.

Yes, it is a love for the person. I’ve always really enjoyed what he did, so when he reached out to me, it was an absolute fan moment. We did our first collaboration in Paris and it was very ‘cool’. She is very professional and the truth is that it is impossible to get a bad photo of her.

What inspires you to create your ‘looks’?

In the color. I am inspired by many different things: catwalk trends, street style outfits during Fashion Weeks, I also see a lot on Pinterest… I like intense and other things.

What are your must-have beauty products?

I like to highlight the eyes. I usually use Benefit Cosmetics. They are Real Xtreme Precision Liner eyeliner and mascara. The eyebrows are also very important because they frame the face and can completely change the face. I have discovered the laminate technique and am passionate about it, I am obsessed. It looks very natural!

How do you do your makeup when you’re short on time?

A touch of highlighter and mascara.
