Peeling pads appeared on the Russian market about five years ago, but not everyone understands them yet. They are either actively used by beauty lovers (like us), lovers of Korean cosmetics, or by clients of cosmetologists. For the rest, exfoliating pads often remain an elusive product. But our beauty department has been using them for several years, so they know everything.
What are peeling pads?
Exfoliating pads are cotton pads (and sometimes wipes) soaked in serum. They are usually sold in small packs of 20 to 50 pieces, but piece copies are also available. Most aim to cleanse, brighten and exfoliate the skin. That’s why peeling pads have two sides: corrugated and softer. The first is for mechanical peeling and the second is for chemical peeling.
The question of where they come from is already rhetorical. Like all modern trends in facial skin care, this one comes from Korea.
Why are they needed?

Peeling pads can have different purposes:
– exfoliation;
– equalization of tone;
– narrowing of pores;
– explanation;
– humidifier;
– update.
The effect will directly depend on the components in the composition of the funds.
How to use exfoliating pads?
Let’s explain step by step:
– Cleanse your face with your usual cleanser.
– Take the pad and run it over the skin, first with the raised side and then with the smooth side. Do this gently, without applying strong pressure, avoiding the area around the eyes. Special attention can be given to the problem areas (forehead, nose, chin) by going through these areas several times.
– After drying the facial skin, apply the basic care.
By the way, exfoliating pads can be used not only for facial skin. It is convenient to work with problem skin on the back or décolleté. Moreover, you do not need to use the pads every day. They are mostly (logically) meant for peeling, so they are not needed more than 1-2 times a week. Read the instructions on the packaging carefully.
Which ones to choose?

Before moving on to the choice of peeling pads, answer yourself the question – for what problems do you need them? According to his answer, you will have to pay attention to the components in which the pads in the serum formula are impregnated.
Aim: even skin tone.
Peeling (or exfoliating) pads will come in handy. Usually they are saturated with acids that chemically exfoliate and gently cleanse the skin of the face, making it smoother and more even.
Aim: minimizes inflammation, soothes the skin.
Pads impregnated not only with acids, but also with other caring components will suit you. They will gently act on inflammations, prevent new ones, and at the same time moisturize the skin of the face. Look for salicylic acid, tea tree extract, niacinamide, AHA and BHA acids in the composition.
Aim: Minimizes age spots, brightens the skin.
Skin lightening pads are often formulated with vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs or retinol. So look for these components among the first in the composition.
Aim: Moisturizes the skin and makes it shiny.
Again, acid pads are suitable for skin hydration and glow, but look for hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide, and plant extracts as additional ingredients.
