Robert Pattinson critiqued the standards of the male body occurring in Hollywood in a revealing new interview. The 36-year-old opened up about the pressure Hollywood puts on men to maintain a certain look despite the negative effects.

Robert revealed in an interview with EN Magazine, who has backed away from the pressures of getting fit for a role in the past and has even admitted in the past that it didn’t work out. He admitted, “It’s kind of embarrassing when you start answering questions about your training because there’s always going to be a guy who’s fitter than you.”
Robert also called Hollywood’s male body standards “crazy,” continuing, “And it’s very, very easy to fall into that pattern too. Even if you’re just looking at your calorie intake, it’s extraordinarily addictive, and you don’t.” I don’t realize how insidious that is until it’s too late.”
While Rob admitted he’s never given in to body image pressure, he’s dabbled in several diets, admitting, “I’ve tried pretty much every fad you can think of, everything except consistency. I once ate only potatoes for two weeks as a detox. Just boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt. Apparently it’s a cleanse…you definitely lose weight.
In addition to a potato detox, Rob admitted to having tried the keto diet once. “I was like, ‘Oh, is there a diet where you just eat charcuterie and cheese platters all the time?’ But I didn’t realize you can’t drink beer, as that completely defeats the purpose. Now that the new year has arrived, Rob shared that he has two resolutions: stay consistent and get a dog. He joked, “I’ve spent so many hours looking at pictures of different dogs, I mean literally months on end, so if I don’t get one it’s going to be a colossal waste of time.” I mean, I really got into it.
