Acun Medya, the production company behind the reality competition Survivor, said on September 4, 2026, that it had no knowledge of any lawsuit filed against it by contestant Stavros Floros, who lost part of his leg in an accident on the show.
The company issued an official statement rejecting recent reports, picked up from foreign media, claiming Floros had filed a $100 million lawsuit against Acun Medya over the accident and the amputation. Acun Medya called the claims unsubstantiated, entirely baseless and slanderous.
Company's official response
In the statement, Acun Medya said it categorically denied the content of the reports. The company said it had not received any notice of a lawsuit filed against it and did not know the contents of any such claim, and that it reserved all its legal rights before all competent courts and authorities against anyone responsible.
Acun Medya said that over the years it has consistently stood by the contestants who take part in its television programs, and that it has shown in practice that it cares about them and supports them both morally and materially. It said it would not tolerate this kind of slanderous behaviour, describing the reports as an improper attack and provocative, malicious commentary directed against it.
Warning against further reports
The statement closed with a demand that outlets stop reproducing the claims. Acun Medya said it explicitly and categorically prohibited, through any medium, the reproduction and publication of the disputed reports and any reference to them, arguing they directly targeted the company's reputation and standing. It added that it would show zero tolerance toward anyone who violated this instruction.
Background to the dispute
Survivor is a reality television competition produced by Acun Medya, the company founded by Turkish media entrepreneur Acun Ilicali, who also hosts several of the show's regional versions. Stavros Floros is a Greek contestant who took part in the program and suffered an accident that resulted in the amputation of part of his leg.
A report published on September 3, 2026, said Floros had filed a lawsuit against Ilicali seeking $100 million in damages following the amputation. Acun Medya's statement the next day was issued specifically in response to that report and similar ones circulating in foreign media.
