Welcome to Derry Season 2 Set in 1935, Muschietti Says

Director Andres Muschietti has revealed that the second season of horror series It: Welcome to Derry will take place in 1935 during the Great Depression. In an interview with Variety, Muschietti said the new storyline will focus on the Bradley gang as they hide from the FBI and rob and kill residents in Derry, Maine.

Muschietti added that a scene in season two will show Pennywise, played by Bill Skarsgard, enjoying the sight of the robbers being killed. Creators will also address themes of poverty, racism, violence, and social prejudice throughout the season.

Prequel Setting and Cast Details

The first season of the prequel takes place in 1962, decades before the Losers Club appears. It follows military officer Leroy Hanlon, who moves to Derry with his wife Charlotte and son Will to join a secret mission at a nearby base, where fellow soldiers meet him with detachment. When local children begin dying, Will and his new friends launch their own investigation.

The series stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Stephen Rider, Matilda Lawler, and Amanda Christine. Producers plan three seasons in total, each covering a distinct timeframe, with the final installment expected to take place in 1908.
