Vanessa Feltz vented her fury at British Airways on Sunday after she and her grandchildren were stranded in Sardinia due to a system failure.
The broadcaster, 64, had flown to the Italian hotspot for a holiday with her family, but shared on Instagram that they were stuck in a "hellish" queue waiting to see whether they could board their flight.
Feltz posted a video ranting that she and her family had received no updates from British Airways on the status of their flight.
She said British Airways in Sardinia had a total system failure, with everyone standing in the queue waiting and waiting. She said there was no plan and no alternative, and nobody knew what British Airways was going to suggest.
She managed to see the lighter side, joking that she had four little grandchildren with her and they were forming great relationships, and that maybe she would find a man to marry her in the queue, though so far nothing had come of it.
Frustration Grows in the Queue
In a second video, Feltz said they were still standing in the hellish queue that would not move at all because the whole British Airways system was down. She said no one was telling them anything, and everyone was thinking of just throwing away their luggage.
She joked that her suitcase held only a few old things from Matalan and a few old things from Dunnes Stores in Ireland dating back to 1807, and that she did not care if she never saw it again, she just wanted to go home. She said no one seemed to care, and that staff could possibly process things manually but needed authorisation, though she did not know from whom.
New YouTube Series on the Way
When she returns to the UK, Feltz is set to launch her own YouTube series after her daytime show on Channel 5 was axed. It was revealed last month that bosses had blindsided the presenter, 64, when they decided to cancel her chat show after just one year on air.
In her final episode last month, Feltz told viewers she was not going to hide under a rock. Less than a week later, she announced her new social media show, which will be filmed at her home with her friends.
She wrote that the show, called At Home with Vanessa, would launch on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and beyond in mid-August. She said it would be filmed at Feltz Towers, her real house, with her real friends, bottomless bagels and cocktails on tap, and invited viewers to subscribe on YouTube for free.
Her television friends, including Ruth Langsford and Charlotte Hawkins, quickly commented in support, and Holly Willoughby also commented "Yay." The news comes days after Willoughby launched her own new YouTube show, Together Together.
