Discovered by the public for his role as a jury member on TF1’s “Dancing with the Stars”, François Alu was named the Paris Opera’s Star Dancer on Saturday.

The hour of blessing has finally come for François Alu. The atypical dancer of the Paris Opera was named Star Dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet at the age of 28 on Saturday, April 23, after Rudolf Nureyev’s performance of La Bayadère, twelve years after entering the institution.

A highly anticipated nomination by both fans and colleagues. But this Saturday, April 23, Paris Opera director Alexander Neef and Dance Director Aurélie Dupont took the stage after the performance to dedicate François Alu to the rank of “stars”, the highest rank of the Paris Opera.

He discovered his profession at the age of 9 while watching Patrick Dupond’s interpretation of Don Quixote on TV. Later she entered the dance school of the Paris Opera. François Alu was 16 years old when he joined the corps de ballet.

The transgressive artist embodies many roles, but the consecration is slow. He then decided to leave the Paris Opera to perform his show “Complètement Jetés”. It’s just a stage that fills the halls.

In 2021, the public discovers her on the jury seat for the new season of the show “Dancing with the Stars” alongside dancers Chris Marques and Denitsa Ikonomova and designer Jean-Paul Gaultier. Audiences who took her role very seriously were quickly won over by this charismatic dancer.
