Leaving Cecily Strong Saturday night live after 11 seasons on the show. A social media post from the official Instagram account for the sketch show confirmed Strong’s departure.
“We’ll miss you Cecily,” read a sign card shared, while the post’s caption read: “Tonight we’re sending one of the best ever We’ll miss you Cecilie!”
The final episode of Strong on Saturday, December 17 will feature Austin Butler as host and Lizzo as musical guest.

Strong made her debut SNL as a featured player on September 15, 2012 and was brought up the following year, beginning with season 39. The comedy star co-hosted the Weekend Update segment with Seth Meyers. When Meyers went to the host Late at nightStrong was still a co-anchor for the next door segment SNL Screenwriter Colin Jost for one season.
Some of Strong’s favorite recurring characters on the NBC sketch show are The Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation at a Party, Dana, the loud and unfriendly store clerk, Krya, the co-host of The Girlfriends Talk Show, Under including Cathy Anne, Michael Che’s drug addict neighbor.
during their tenure SNL, Strong had a strong impersonation of celebrities. Some of the most memorable include Gretchen Whitmer, Governor of Michigan, Judge Jeanine Pirro, and most recently, Kari Lake, Governor-elect of Arizona, with all her zoom filters.
