“Ted Lasso” Encourages World Cup Celebrations With Billboards In Hometowns Of US Soccer Team Players

Inspirational, if somewhat cryptic, messages have appeared on billboards in the hometowns of members of the US men’s national soccer team as the World Cup approaches. The obvious motivator? None other than Ted Lasso (or maybe the man who plays him, Jason Sudeikis).

The bright yellow billboards, each with a funny and lengthy message of hope written in blue letters in Ted Lasso’s whimsical style, appeared in San Diego, Seattle, Pico Rivera, California, Bergen County, New Jersey – all birthplaces of, or nearby of schools attended by USMNT players or coaches.

A typical message, this one for Seattle player Jordan Morris:

Jordan, the first time you broke one of the scenes I was blown away by your sheer speed and talent. I’m sure you know all about being blown away, from Seattle and all. Very gloomy days, but the problem with you is that you don’t let anyone rain on your parade. Knockdown and Stamina are two of your specialties. Maybe you only focus on the latter when playing the big games. Rain or shine, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!
