How did you, who were finalists in 2010, see this year’s candidates?
Georgiana Viou: As a juror, you cannot imagine what the participants might experience. I wanted to convey my experience by experiencing this adventure personally, sometimes I gave them tips so that they would not waste their time.
What is the hardest part of being a jury member?
We should try not to get attached, not be too empathetic. Humans have a big place in this series, which does not prevent us from keeping the friendly side. Especially because we want to establish a real philanthropy this season.
Did you feel legitimate with Yves Camdeborde and Thierry Marx?
If I didn’t feel legitimate, I wouldn’t be here. I think our forces are very well combined. Yves has that warm and spontaneous “bonnard” side of life that we love in people. Thierry is a kind of guarantor of the ground rules, but always has the right word or a punchline.
What is a good meal? And what do you expect from candidates?
The taste, of course, I have to feel a “wow” effect. But that doesn’t necessarily mean going for a super complex creation. First of all, the first spoonful should make me want to go back.
