"You let Julien speak!"… Christelle Brua reframes Virgilia mid-Best pastry chef finale: the pros (M6)

This Thursday, July 21, 2022 has been set as the home extension of the series’ 5th season. Best pastry chef: professionals. At the start of the episode, three couples were still in competition: Virgilia and Julien, Antoine and Camille, and Jérémy and Baptiste. For the first time ever under the tent, no less than five passes – France’s best worker, world champion and sweet arts champion – challenged the candidates in an extraordinary event. Every chef has imposed his restraint worthy of the world’s greatest pastry competitions. Five challenges to overcome to create the perfect dessert that sent two out of three couples to the finals. Alongside Virgilia and Julien, Jérémy and Baptiste qualified, while Camille and Antoine completed the third step of the podium. For the final test, the two remaining couples had to create their own cake stand and put on the most gourmet shows to entice the invited public and Christelle Brua, Cyril Lignac and Pierre Hermé to vote for them…

At the beginning of this final challenge, Christelle Brua asked Julien and Virgilia to explain their concept to her. When Virgilia began to reply, the head of the Elysée fired her without hesitation: “No Virgilia, you let Julien speak!“What did the latter do, the young pastry chef a “No worries!” “I saw a couple where Julien brought so much power to highlight exactly you, Virgilia, Explained Christelle Brua. Today I want it to be the other way around. Let be the one pushing Julien to surpass himself. And if you manage to do both, you put the front team in danger.”.

And to continue, to Julien’s attention: “For me, you are a small part of this competition and I think you have a real added value in this couple and this event.“.

At the end of the evening, Jérémy and Baptiste won the final, Virgilia and Julien finally failing on the second step of the podium.
