Peggy Bergère follows the journey of five professional players from D1 Arkema who have decided to talk and the space available to them. The football players who participated in this training voluntarily continued both their sports careers and their private lives while choosing their topics and working on their speeches with the help of coaches throughout the season. Following the internal finals, the players competed in a grand final at the Olympia in April 2022 before a jury of sports and media professionals led by Julie Zengin.
Since 2021, FFF and Prometheus Education have been holding an eloquence competition where D1 players compete and the final is played at Olympia in Paris. Racism, homophobia, gender inequalities, harassment… they all carry more or less suppressed wounds. Like Magou Doucouré (pictured left) from the Stade de Reims: “I felt like I was black when I left the neighborhood”she admits, she cannot hide her feelings while she is telling the public about the insults she has been victimized from the stands…
Ukrainian teammate Tanya Romanenko (right photo) chooses to talk about the importance of the mind. When he learned that war broke out in his country, in the field as well as in life. After three months of training, even the most timid achieves the goal: to persuade an audience. Journalist Hervé Mathoux commented on the jury: “I got the impression he was at the UN.“Who is he talking about? To discover at the time of the decision made by Sovereign Julie Fikir.
