Like mistletoe and candy, Kevin Spacey arrived with his annual Christmas message in the role of Frank Underwood, the character he played in the Netflix drama. House of cards.
This time Tucker Carlson joins in, initially gives a semi-serious interview, then breaks through the wall and asks Spacey/Underwood about his future plans as an artist.
The premise of the interview is that Frank Underwood may enter the presidential race, saying the country is “entangled in so much contradiction and confusion.”
“What’s not with a trigger warning these days? We’re way too close to having a beanbag chair in the Oval Office,” Spacey said. He added that Is The White House doesn’t want anyone walking down the hall with bunny ears.
How did we get to this point? “Fear,” says Spacey/Underwood.
He then blames Netflix for banning him, claiming that he built the network thanks to its huge success house of cardsthe streamer’s first series with an original script.
“It’s bizarre that they are publicly cutting ties with me based on allegations that have since been proven false,” Spacey said. “Netflix exists because of me. I put them on the map and they tried to put me in the ground.”
He offers a vice presidential spot to Carlson, who says he’ll “sleep on it.”
The real Spacey struggles with legal issues that cost him the role of Underwood and tries unsuccessfully to make a comeback.
