Snoop Dogg announced on social media that he is leaving his most famous vice.
“I quit smoking,” Snoop Dogg wrote on X and Instagram. “After much thought and discussion with my family, I decided to quit smoking. Please respect my privacy at this time.”
No reason was given for the sudden decision, nor was it made clear whether the well-known weed enthusiast was strictly passing weed smoke.
Some have speculated that Snoop, 52, may turn to cannabis edibles to save his lungs.
Snoop and cannabis have long been linked in his career, beginning with his guest appearances on Dr. Dre’s 1992 album “The Chronic”.
Marijuana smoke, like tobacco smoke, irritates the lungs. It also contains levels of volatile chemicals and tar similar to those in tobacco smoke, raising concerns about the risk of cancer and lung disease in heavy users.
