The streets of San Francisco were reportedly cleared before President Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping arrived for the ongoing Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, although it appears not to have been completely, as a public television news crew was robbed Monday heading to allegedly shot with a firearm.
Reporter Bohumil Vostal and a crew from Czech broadcaster ČT24 were doing a stand-up gig outside the legendary Beat-era bookstore City Lights when, according to a local Fox affiliate, citing police, a vehicle stopped on the street and three armed men with firearms got out of the car and approached the group. The suspects requested their production equipment and the victims complied with their request.”
The attackers sped away and the Czech crew remained unharmed and were apparently undeterred.
“Thank you very much for the support we received in ČT news,” Vostal wrote on X. “We continue to take pictures. We are here for the US President’s summit with the Chinese leader. And we will be there for CT (as always).
