EXCLUSIVE: Mike Whites The White Lotus wasting no time moving forward with Season 3. On Nov. 9, the same day the SAG-AFTRA strike ended at 12:01 a.m., the Emmy-winning HBO anthology series began airing its upcoming third installment by announcing the release of the new characters. According to sources, filming is expected to begin in early February in Thailand.
Again, The White Lotus will have an expanded cast spanning generations. Thirteen roles are currently being cast, nine of which are series regulars – ranging in age from 18 to 80 – including a patriarch, a business leader, an actress, a couple of mothers, an outsider and a yogi, I hear .
Last week, The White Lotus Creator Mike White gave a status update on the third season, which is expected to premiere in 2025, and expressed his hope to begin filming “early in the year.”
“I’m serious about finishing the scripts,” White, whose writing was interrupted by the work stoppage, said at the time of the new episode.

Season 1’s Connie Britton told Deadline last year that she was in talks with White about possibly returning for Season 3.
Originally scheduled for 2024, Season 3 “will likely be pushed back to 2025” because of the strikes, HBO and Max chairman and CEO Casey Bloys said earlier this month.
