ESPN star adviser suffers discomfort during pre-Real Madrid-AC Milan live broadcast

During the presentation of the friendly match between Real Madrid and AC Milan on Sunday, July 23, ESPN consultant Shaka Hislop collapsed on the live broadcast after suffering an illness.

A chilling sequence. On Sunday, July 23, a prestigious friendly match took place between Real Madrid and AC Milan (3-2) in Pasadena, California. Before the start of the match broadcast live on the American channel ESPN, journalist Dan Thomas and consultant Shaka Hislop took to the air to present the meeting. Suddenly, the latter collapsed to the ground, a victim of visible discomfort. Dan Thomas immediately sought help when his colleague lost consciousness. Due to the seriousness of the situation, ESPN initially stopped the pre-match broadcast by posting an ad page.

Dan Thomas returned to the broadcast alone at halftime of the match between Real Madrid and AC Milan. The host wanted to reassure the audience by reporting on Shaka Hislop: “Of course, my friend Shaka is not here. But the way things are now, the news is good. He is conscious, speaking. We also talked to his family, because you can imagine him on the live broadcast… We talked to his wife and everything is fine.“The reviewer of the meeting ESPNAdrian Healey said: “He got better, I didn’t see the event but I’m sure it was worrying. I was told it was absolutely fine.

Before retraining as a consultant, Shaka Hislop served as a goalkeeper for his 15-year career. Born in London, he chose his origins Trinidad and Tobago national team and notably participated in the 2006 World Cup as a starter. The goalkeeper has spent most of his life in England, where he defended goals from Newcastle and West Ham, among other things. He ended his career in 2007 after spending a year at FC Dallas.
