“I am always amazed at everything he does”said James Middleton, who is struggling with depression, from Princess Kate’s influence.
The 36-year-old founder of Ella & Co. hosted Good Morning Britain on Thursday to talk about training her puppy Bertie on Guide Dogs, and said Kate and Prince William’s long-standing work on this important topic has helped her talk about her battle with depression.
“I think the great thing is that they’re in a position to talk about their own mental health. And I think that’s a challenging thing in general.”said James Middleton, referring to his sister and brother-in-law.
“I remember at first it was impossible for me to say out loud that I felt down or thought I was.”he continued, with his dogs Mabel and Isla by his side. “But in fact, over time, thanks to their work, my self-confidence increased and I was able to express myself. I owe them my appreciation and the interest they have shown in this subject.” added.
“We all suffer from mental illness and I think it’s important to be able to talk about it, and so I felt I had a responsibility to do that, because that was part of my journey to get to where I am today, where I am in control.”Explained James. “It didn’t pass, I don’t expect it to pass, but now I’m in control of the situation” gives confidence.

The Princess of Wales’ younger brother spoke to the Daily Mail for the first time in 2019 about his mental health. In January, James thanked his sisters Kate and Pippa for attending some therapy sessions.
“She’s my sister and that’s how I see her. I’m extremely proud. I’m amazed at everything she does and it’s always at the top of my concerns”told MCs Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard of Kate’s influence as Princess of Wales.
Sanity has long been a key priority of Princess Kate’s royal business. Along with her husband, Prince William, and brother-in-law, Prince Harry, she launched the Heads Together initiative in 2016 to break the stigma around mental health conversations and charity.
Prince William, 41, stressed the importance of mental health in all aspects of life, and also made the fight against male suicide an important part of his job as an active member of the Royal Family. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton focused on mental health initiatives for mothers and children.
Earlier this month, looking more satisfied than ever, James Middleton announced that his family is getting bigger! On July 5, he announced that he and his wife, French woman Alizee Thévenet, were expecting their first child.
