Here it all starts: "When it’s too good to be true…" Summary before July 18 (SPOILER)

While visiting Lucie, Axel clicks the decoration that doesn’t look like Auguste Armand. Richard reassures him, explaining that this is exactly the chef’s desire to offer something simpler and more family-friendly.

Richard explains that he took care of the venue for three years to get it ready to open quickly. Jasmine doesn’t understand why the chef left Axel a restaurant without knowing him. But Richard stresses that cooking is in the blood.

Salomé admits to Gaëtan that reuniting with Maya was difficult and she didn’t know if she would ever see the young woman or Leonard again. He is surprised to find the young man at the institute. He comes to deposit his registration and Maya’s registration for the summer internship. But he warns Salomé that her friend is less involved in the kitchen than she is.

Richard hires a former student of the institute to take care of Lucie’s kitchen. This is Elodie, who has regained her sight thanks to a retinal implant. They explain that Chef Armand has been working on the menu he developed for this restaurant for several months. Richard gives Axel his father’s recipe book. He explains that he wants to open in just ten days. Jasmine and Lionel offer to help in the kitchen, which does not please Richard. However, Jasmine says that 4 isn’t too big for a card that doesn’t exist at all.

Revelation Anaïs in Double A

Theo is in London and cannot be reached. Anaïs panics because “Double A still deserve the Vatel Award?” Teyssier reassures Anaïs of her leadership qualities.

Axel is delighted with the restaurant, but Jasmine doubts Richard’s goodwill. She thinks it’s too good to be true and reminds her that Richard just showed up. She advises him to be careful and ask for official documents of the inheritance.

Claire is very pleased with Salomé for completing the course. The latter explains to him the existence of Leonard and Maya, explaining that this is an opportunity to meet again. Claire advises Maya to be careful not to take the place of a motivated person.

The journalist urges Anaïs to discover his cooking, not Théo’s. The young chef is forced to accept and prepares a vegetarian bourguignon for him. A dish that bluffs the journalist who admits he was surprised by the unexpected flavors.

At Axel’s request, Richard gives him a handwritten letter detailing Auguste Armand’s last wishes regarding the restaurant, along with official papers. Axel asks for details about this decision. Richard tells the Chief that he knows he has little time left to live with his heart problems and explains to her his relationship with Lucie and the birth of his abandoned son after giving birth. He assures that Auguste Armand dreams of meeting this boy.

Jasmine and Lionel use the opportunity to search Richard’s room. They find a recovery email on his computer saying he owes a lot from his bank because of the restaurant.

An avalanche of unpleasant surprises

Salomé finds Leonard and Maya at the cafe to instruct them for internships. She is shocked to learn that Leonard lied to her and enrolled Maya without her consent. Maya feels trapped and wants to cancel the internship. Leonard insists the internship will be beneficial and states that they can work at the cafe in parallel to purchase a studio at the beginning of the school year as planned.

Jasmine warns Axel that the restaurant is a scam and brings up Richard’s money problems. The latter explains that he took a three-year loan to maintain the restaurant. She claims to have no stake in the organization, as official documents show. She explains why she wanted to open it so quickly.

Leonard and Maya are at the institute and are enjoying exploring this place. Salome joins them and Maya turns her back on him. She fights him for leaving them and swears things won’t work out between them.

Theo managed to find an early train. Anaïs informs him about the journalist’s visit. Teyssier arrives and congratulates him with the new title of the article: “The young chef who dusts the Vatel Prize will be followed”. Théo grimaces, while Anaïs is angered by her rivalry with her partner.

Louis calls Rose and Clotilde to tell them that Axel is lying and is at a restaurant visibly inherited by their father. He gives them the name of Chief Armand’s supposed friend and collaborator, but they don’t recognize him. Fearing his identity-seeking half-sister will be scammed, he intends to investigate to find out more.
