Astronaut Thomas Pesquet explains why he has no children (VIDEO) “It would be very selfish if it were me”

Yesterday, the journalists of the program “Les Rencontres du Papotin” received the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet. Second, he went back to his family’s daughter, his relationship with his friend Anne, and his desire for fatherhood.

Thomas Pesquet became a true legend after his second voyage to the International Space Station.

The French have once again documented their space travel with incredible photos of our planet Earth and invited its residents to ask themselves questions for the protection of our planet.

Motivated by a genuine need to exchange and transfer with his fellow citizens, the astronaut has even published a book of his finest photographs.

With a fast-paced life and a busy job, Thomas Pesquet is a very busy man. Still, he accepted the invitation of the journalists of the show. “Papotin meetings”aired last night on Saturday, June 24, 2023, on France 2.

An opportunity to once again open up about Thomas Pesquet’s unusual couple with his partner Anne Mottet, whom he only sees twice a month and has been separated for months during space missions. The astronaut also explained why he has no children:If I had kids, I’d still go to space, so he’d take care of everything himself, and that’s not possible. You can’t have a child and say it’s okay. That would be very selfish of me. It is difficult for those who have children to come back from a job,” he said.

In April 2021, Thomas Pesquet had justified his choice not to have children, already relying on Le Parisien’s columns on the subject: “Never have we had so much time and the irrepressible desire to have it”.

This is also true for Thomas Pesquet, if his partner in Italy, where he works as a livestock policy officer at the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), is very busy. He explained: “It’s an all-encompassing profession. We get carried away easily and unfortunately family comes second”.
