American rapper Yung LB, also his cameraman and stylist, was arrested by French police in La Défense (Hauts-de-Seine) on the night of Wednesday (June 21st) and Thursday (June 22nd). Three accomplices were detained by the police for money laundering and drug use as police found large amounts of cash and substantial quantities of marijuana on them. The police custody order was extended for another twenty-four hours by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office this Thursday. It all started on June 21 at 23:30 in front of the U Arena stadium. Three Americans attending Pink’s concert are spotted by the cops for their extravagant outfits. When checked, the three friends were found to have about 200g of cannabis weed, plus $45,000 in cash. Enough to arouse the investigators’ suspicions and take them to the police station.
But for the suspects’ lawyer, Me Steeve Ruben, the detention is completely disproportionate. “My clients knew very well that cannabis use is illegal in France. They only had bags of CBD on them (substance allowed in our country, Editor’s note)”they gave their advice. “And they had a right to have this money in their pockets. I find the extension of this police custody measure intolerable”, he complained. The fate of the three suspects will be determined in the coming hours, as the judges have decided to wait until Friday evening.“Assess the progress of the investigations and decide on this case”definite Parisian. Yung LB is a Tongan-born rapper living in Los Angeles. She has more than 200,000 followers on Instagram and was in Paris as part of Fashion Week.
