Hit TV screenwriter and producer Ryan Murphy is considering leaving Netflix and joining Disney after his 5-year contract.

Ryan Murphy has had many successes over the years. Starting with Nip/Tuck on FX and continuing with Glee and the anthology series American Horror Story and American Crime Story, Ryan Murphy has made a name for himself in the television world.

He worked for 20th Century for most of his television career before signing with Netflix, which brought us shows like Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy will leave Netflix at the end of his five-year, nine-figure contract with the broadcaster. He is rumored to be returning to work with Dana Walden, who he worked with while he was directing 20th Century Fox TV. The latter is now co-president of Disney Entertainment. It would be Ryan Murphy’s return not to the happy Disney+ world, but to FX and therefore the Hulu platform. FX is indeed an American private television channel that is part of Disney Media Networks.

Ryan Murphy, 57, left Fox in 2018 to join Netflix in a five-year deal worth $300 million to produce new series and movies exclusively for the online giant.

Competition has intensified between streaming companies that invest in original content and try to stand out in a crowded market and attract subscribers to their platforms.
