A new “invention”
Although alembics used to distill herbs originated in the Arab-Persian world before the year 1000, the therapeutic virtues of oils were not formalized until the early 20th century by a French chemist, René-Maurice Gattefossé. It was he who “invented” modern aromatherapy: a branch of medicine that consists of curing diseases with essential oils.
Pay attention to the dosage!
This movie draws attention to the dangerous situation of these oils in France because they are not considered drugs. Conclusion ? There is no uniformity among manufacturers that creates (over)dosing problems for their users.
Allies of medicine?
Many hospitals in France are using them with convincing results to improve the comfort of oncology patients, especially nausea. However, a recent clinical trial could demonstrate their ineffectiveness.
