How would you describe yourself? Sniper, itchy hair, Baffie 2.0?
Paul de Saint Sernin: Sniper is great but Baffie 2.0 is so flattering. I had a chance to meet Laurent, who asked me a little on the nets.
Just like him, there is a tenderness in you, behind the provocation…
Throughout the show, I keep the word “philanthropy” in mind. My goal is not to laugh at someone, but to laugh with someone. Behind the sniper is a sensitive heart that uses humor to discuss all issues. Even the saddest!
Could this arrogance be a reaction to your very traditional upbringing (calling her parents as you)?
I don’t believe. I am the eldest of six children and there has always been intelligence, nice words and little spades that feel good at home. Football locker rooms, a sport I do regularly, also have an effect. There is a “world war” among us athletes. (Laughs) Everyone shoots each other, but we can afford it because we are like brothers.
Speaking of football, you worked on the short-lived Téléfoot channel… Don’t you miss this universe?
The love of football never leaves me. I am preparing a show on how this sport transcends differences: social, cultural… Football is like the day I got tribute by a man I started talking about. We became friends and he called me back today… on my cell phone!
