Have you been offered the Alien skin?
Yes, I wasn’t given much choice! The production had a good idea of the costume that would fit me, and they were right, it allowed me to do pretty rock’n’roll stuff with a particular universe. I’ve always loved drawing clothes, it’s a passion. That’s why I interfered a lot with the material selection, I created with them, I gave a lot of ideas. But it was the customers who did it all.
Were you comfortable in it?
No, it wasn’t comfortable at all, except for the shoes I wore at the gym. Star Ac’. I wanted to keep my heels, I customized them. But otherwise it is very difficult to wear, very heavy, it hurts your back. You’re breathing so bad in there that I wanted to take the mask off completely, huh. But I don’t think that’s possible in the show! (Laughs) And I would also eliminate the heavy electronic arc behind me to move in all directions.
Unfortunately, you didn’t get to the end of the adventure. What are the titles you will be commenting on during the prime below?
I have one Queen song left, black Eagle which I revisited in a spatial version. I hope they release it one day because I really enjoyed doing it. there was also hanging I was able to repeat Madonna hanging over a disco ball. That was great! i went too Stephen, StephenI changed it to Alien, Alien. But I especially regret not being able to sing Freddie Mercury, that’s for sure.
Were you aiming for the final when entering the competition?
Oh yes, I wanted it! I was sorry to leave at the time but it was just for fun. It’s not a contest, it’s a really nice contest, very charitable. Frankly, I wanted to share with the public all my performances that I have worked hard on. There is a lot of preparation and time. I devoted myself to music arrangements to make soundtracks that sound like me.
How did you do the whole privacy protocol to keep your identity private?
Funny thing, huh! It all feels weird, like spying. I left the house, I was picked up from another address, I was always masked… But the thing that impressed me the most was that when I first got in the car, we were given a blackboard for communication. And the last time I was in this situation, I had vocal cord surgery. It shocked me, I almost burst into tears in the car. But talking with this slate was very funny, this time it was over with pleasure.
Did you manage to keep the secret?
I was so obsessed with my job and wanted to be successful that I said my name once during rehearsals on set! I was talking to the choreographer and I said to him, “Just tell me ‘Adeline, put yourself there’!“. I said to myself : “But what did you do? You respect all the rules, you don’t tell anyone and then you say your name! There are missing slaps!Luckily no one heard because my voice was distorted and “Adeline” sounded like “Alien”. Crazy stuff!
As a vocal coach, did you recognize certain personalities before they were unmasked?
Yes, but I can’t tell you anything because those eyes are not masked yet! (Laughs) I have a good ear, there are people I know right away. I think they are, although I don’t have a confirmation yet.
You played a lot with the audience, are you used to being like that on stage?
Yes, I am an artist who likes to communicate fully with his audience. I wanted to bring joy to the audience, they come to experience a sharing. Even when I was suspended at a height of four meters, I gave the audience a heartbreak. But I thought they might recognize me, because Star Ac’, I’m “Madame Coeur”! People didn’t know who I was but they sent me their love and I was able to communicate with them. Like what, the sound and energy speaks to the public even through a costume. Crazy. That’s why I love my job even more.
You sang on TV for weeks, and a few years ago you lost your voice in an accident…
The road taken is endless. I am filled with gratitude for life. You don’t know what it feels like to be on stage. I was doomed to whisper for the rest of my life and I find myself on stage in TF1… But what luck! This is a little miracle for me. I was in great, great happiness.
You moved a lot by continuing Do not leave me…
It was too strong for me. I was not addressing a love, I was addressing my joy. How do you keep your spirits up when an accident happens to you in life? I chose the last paragraph of the song for real reasons. I think my feeling was clear. I told the public about my pain but also my joy at my voice being restored.
in your clip Hey dudereleased two months ago, you are suspended in the air as it is Mask Singer. Was this a clue?
In fact, when I was announced Star Ac’, I was so dizzy, I was scared. So I told the clip’s director, Thierry Vergnes, that I wanted to overcome my fear of dizziness, and that was just days before I was hovering on the show. So it took me a lot of time because I was hanging even higher in the Alien costume and I couldn’t see anything, it was so hard. But now I want to make stunt movies!
You just released your EP. red-headedThis Friday, May 12…
These songs talk a lot about resilience, the fact that when you have a problem you can come back to it. I put a lot of my heart into it and musically I’m proud of it. I did it with the 21 Days duo, who are excellent and very positive people. Her name red-headed because when I lost everything – I had neither a voice nor a job and was a victim of domestic violence – only the color I used to make was left in my hair. For me, it’s a mood, it made me endure, stay positive, and say to myself: “One day I’ll be back in color“.
will you be next season Star Academy ?
It’s too early to tell if I’ll be there. Meanwhile I’m showing my show This is my destiny. The deadline in Europe will be played on 11 June.
