Apparently John Stamos wasn’t a big fan of the Olsen twins Totally. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were cast as Michelle Tanner when they were babies, which gave Stamos a hard time as the girls kept crying.
“We make the scene. Joey and I changed the baby, right? And Danny went away and said, “Take care of the kids.” “Yes, we have it. We got it,” Stamos said during an appearance at the Good boys podcast. “So we carry the baby downstairs and take it to the kitchen and rinse it off. And she screamed. Both. They wanted to be somewhere else, and so did I.”
Stamos continued: “They were 11 months old and God bless them. They kept changing: “This one won’t cry.” I couldn’t handle it. And I said, “It’s not going to work,” and I yelled it 10 times. I said, ‘Let it go, I can’t work like this.’ And so they lost her. They bring these two red headed kids… I’m sure their parents loved them and found them attractive… It had nothing to do with it [them being] redheads, but they weren’t attractive.”
filming for Totally went on without the Olsen twins, but Stamos changed his mind and called for the Olsens to be brought back, as he thought the other children were “terrible”.
“It was a day or so; We tried with the other kids, it didn’t work,” Stamos added.
Totally was the Olsen twins’ breakout role on the show, which ran for eight seasons on ABC. Mary-Kate and Ashley later starred in a number of films and started their own fashion brand, building a business empire at a young age.
