Sharon Acker, best known as Lee Marvin’s unfaithful wife in the 1967 film point blank, died March 16 at a home in Toronto. She was 87 and her death was confirmed by daughter Kim Everest, a casting director.
Acker had a long and varied resume in film, television and on stage. In 1956, she played teacher Mrs. Stacey in a CBC adaptation of Anna on Groengewels. She then joined the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Company and starred as Anne Page facing the future star pull Costar William Shatner in a production of The gay women of Windsor.
In addition to point blankinclude their film credits Happy Jim (1957). Acker was also there Don’t let the angels fall (1969), which played in competition at Cannes. She was selected as a Movie Star of Tomorrow by the Motion Picture Exhibitors of Canada that year.
Her memorable television roles included a 1976-77 CBS adaptation Boardroom, Mitchell plays Ryan’s wife Dan Walling. She later appeared in the 1973 reboot PerryMasonwhich ran for 15 episodes.
She also appeared in the CBC series festivaland played Lady MacDuff in a 1961 adaptation of Macbeth.
To complete her TV career, she was in episodes of The Wild Wild West, Get smart, It takes a thief, spear bearer, pseudonym Smith and Jones, Fireworks, Impossible mission, mod team, Marcus Welby, doctor, canon, Barbara Jones, The streets of San Francisco, The Rockford Files, police history And Quincy, me
She was last seen in the horror film Congratulations on my birthday (1981), and her final television appearance was imminent The young and the restless in 1992. She retired from acting in 1994.
Survivors include their children Kim and Gillian; granddaughter Alexis; great-granddaughter Berkeley; and stepchildren Kim and Caitlin.
