The British screenwriter Ray Jenkins, who for decades co-wrote some of Britain’s biggest TV hits, has died at the age of 87. Jenkins died last month and is survived by his two children, Pascale and Ceri.
During a successful and long-running career, Jenkins has written for numerous critically acclaimed British police and judicial drama series including Z cars, The outsiders, the brothers, This man Craig, Callan, The Sweeney, special branch, Julia Bravo, light touch, The chef And The information session. This is just to name a few.
Jenkins also edited Wilkie Collins The woman in white with Ian Richardson and Jenny Seagrove for the BBC along with Tom Hart’s novel The Aura and the Kingfisher As The innocent for the screen, starring Liam Neeson and Miranda Richardson, with photography by Roger Deakins.
His most recent project was a television film Circles of Deception: Kalon, which he wrote in the mid-1990s and is a former president of the Writers Guild.
Jenkins was born on September 1, 1935 and died on January 16.
