“Blindspotting” premieres season 2

Starz premieres the second season of blind spot for April 14 and released first look images (below).

The two-episode premiere will air linearly on Starz in the US and Canada at 9:00 PM ET/PT, immediately followed by episode two at 9:30 PM. ET/PT. All subsequent episodes air Fridays at 9pm ET/PT.

By Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs, blind spot Ashley (Jasmine Cephas Jones) leads a middle-class life in Oakland until Miles (Casal), her partner of 12 years and father of her son Sean (Atticus Woodward), is suddenly imprisoned. She navigates a chaotic life when she is forced to move in with Miles’ mother, Rainey (Helen Hunt) and sister, Trish (Jaylen Barron).

Season 2 picks up nine months after Ashley and Miles’ prison wedding in the Season 1 finale as Ashley tries to raise her son on her own. She reaches her breaking point and takes it out on everyone around her. Miles adjusts to life on the inside and counts down the days until her first weekend family visit in San Quentin.

Rainey tries her best to make Ashley and Sean feel at home while she tries to stay behind bars with her son, but Ashley has all the cards in her hand. Trish’s new business is thriving, but she now struggles with jealousy as her best friend and business partner Jacque (April Absynth) is dating Cuddie (Lance Holloway).

Frustrated by Ashley’s constant need for support, Janelle (Candace Nicholas-Lippman) begins to miss her life in Bali. Earl (Benjamin Turner), himself just out of prison for accidentally violating his parole conditions, has moved out of Nancy’s (Margo Hall) house and is trying to repair his relationship with his own family and his past.

In addition to co-creating the series, Casal and Diggs serve as executive producers and writers, while Casal also serves as showrunner and director of four episodes. Snoot Entertainment’s Jess Wu Calder and Keith Calder, Emily Gerson Saines, Ken Lee and Tim Palen also serve as executive producers, and Wu Calder also directed two episodes of the second season.

Kathryn Tyus-Adair, senior vice president of original programming, is in charge blind spot on behalf of Sterz. Claire Wendlandt is the executive overseeing the series on behalf of Lionsgate.
