His death was first reported by Jasper radio station WJLX.FM. Family sources tell TMZ he died of a heart attack, and local news reports he died at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.

A native of Curtis Harris, he was initially visiting singer american idol Auditions taken in 2010, then tried (and failed) for both The X factor and The voice. He tried again american idol‘s 13th season in 2014 while auditioning in Salt Lake City while working as both an indie musician and a restaurant clerk.
Harris reached the semi-finals of the season, his most memorable being covers of Allman Brothers Band songs “Soulshine” and The Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See”. He reached sixth place before retiring on 24 April 2014. (The winner of the year was Caleb Johnson.)
To his idol Harris continued his music career this season and released his debut single with the song “In Love” in 2019.
