A new season of Doctor who is coming in 2023 and the BBC has released a teaser trailer as a Christmas present for fans. Ncuti Gatwa is the Fifteenth Doctor, but before he appears, David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor returns, now as the Fourteenth Doctor after Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor left.
In the preview, Catherine Tate’s Donna Noble seems to feel either way.
“Sometimes I think something is missing,” she says. “Like I had something nice and it’s gone.”
Tennant’s doctor comes out and says, “I don’t know who I am anymore.”
Donna Noble is seemingly in danger when the Fourteenth Doctor says if she ever remembers him “she will die”.
Gatwa’s presence comes at the end of the teaser and asks, “Can someone tell me what the hell is going on here?”
Showrunner Russell T. Davies teased the upcoming season in a statement earlier this year, saying: “If you thought David Tennant’s performance came as a shock, we’ve got a lot of surprises ahead of us! The road to Ncuti’s fifteenth Doctor is filled with mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and fun! And how does this relate to the return of the great Donna Noble? How, what, why? We’ll give you a year to speculate, and then the all hell breaks loose!”
Neil Patrick Harris is also in the new season Doctor who.
Doctor who debuted in 1963 and will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2023 since the show aired.
