Short route via Kongost

• Distance: 10 kilometers (round trip).
• Estimated time: about 3 hours.
• Starting point: Masieta’s parking lot.

This route starts at the Masieta car park (in high season you have to book your ticket online and costs 6 Euros). It has a section of 5 km and reaches the bridge Sigue, where the provinces of Lleida and Huesca meet. Two kilometers later, the suspension bridge of the Sant Jaume valley is encountered. With a breathtaking view, soon begins a path dug into the rock in 1982 that leads us into the valley.

It consists of vertical walls exceeding 500 meters in height and a canyon that is only 30 meters wide at its narrowest point. You will then reach the Petrusa junction in about an hour and a half (without stops) to look for the Sigué bridge. This is the final destination for this route and allows you to turn around and head back into the parking lot.

The long way through Kongost

• Distance: 16.8 kilometers (round trip).
• Estimated time: 4 and a half hours (approximately).
• Starting point: Masieta’s parking lot.

This route is the same as the short route but includes the entire route through Huesca after crossing the Sigué bridge. After passing it (and already in the province of Huesca), a steep slope of about 200 meters begins. Finally begins the first section of magnificent stairs fixed to the rock that needs to be lowered.

By saving a 50-metre drop, you reach the second part, which is less dizzying than the previous one. The last part of the route in continuous climbing reaches the Montfalcó hostel, where you have to turn back to follow the entire route in the opposite direction.

For the more adventurous: kayak, boat, canoe or catamaran ride

If you are one of those who want to make the most of the day, or who prefer to explore this region by sailing between its turquoise waters and magnificent vertical walls, you have the option of renting a canoe, canoeing or even taking a boat trip.
