Two United Airlines planes were involved in a low-speed collision at Boston’s Logan International Airport on Monday.
It happened when an aircraft was pushed backwards out of its bay and its right wing collided with the horizontal stabilizer on the tail of an adjacent aircraft.
The incident happened just before 09:00 and required United Airlines to remove all passengers from the plane so that the two flights could be rescheduled with other planes.
“As the wing of a United Logan plane pushed back from the gate in Boston earlier today, it struck the wing of another United plane parked at the adjacent gate,” United Airlines said in a statement. .

A person on the plane posted a photo on Reddit on Monday showing the wing of one plane partially wedged into the edge of another plane’s wing.
“Tough start to Monday in Boston Logan,” the person wrote.
Another passenger on the plane posted a similar photo on Twitter and described the incident as a “fender bender”.
United Airlines responded matter-of-factly to the photo, expressing its condolences and promising to work on a “timely resolution.”
