Pixar Animation Studios feature Toy Story 5 will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service on September 23 following its theatrical debut earlier this summer. The announcement by Pixar marks the streaming release for the animated sequel three months after it opened in cinemas on June 17.

Disney also announced that a new music video for the piano version of the Taylor Swift song I Knew It, I Knew You is now available on Disney+, Apple Music, and Spotify. The music video incorporates footage from Toy Story 5. Swift performed the track, which she co-wrote and co-produced alongside Jack Antonoff.
Swift and Antonoff are longtime musical collaborators who have produced multiple award-winning albums together. Their track provides the musical backdrop for the ongoing promotional rollout of the fifth film in the franchise.
Box Office Records and Earnings
The film achieved major commercial success during its theatrical run. In Spain, the movie earned 4.7 million euros in box office revenue during its first week prior to the release of competing blockbusters The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In the United States, the picture generated 159 million dollars during its opening weekend.
Toy Story 5 has accumulated a total worldwide box office gross of 1.13 billion dollars to date. That total makes the feature the highest grossing film in the history of the Pixar franchise.
Pixar Animation Studios, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Pictures, released the original Toy Story in 1995 as the first fully computer-animated feature film. Over the past three decades, the franchise has grown into one of the most successful properties in cinema history.
Toy Story 5 Plot Details
Produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures, Toy Story 5 serves as a direct sequel to the fourth film in the series. The narrative takes place two years after the events of Toy Story 4.
The plot centers on the unexpected return of Woody, who reunites with Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of their toy companions. Together, the group faces an unprecedented modern challenge as they compete for the attention of their owner Bonnie against Lilypad, a smart tablet that has become her favorite new toy.
Subscribers to Disney+ will be able to watch the film on the platform starting September 23 as part of its home streaming debut.
