Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for the new era of The Grand Tour ahead of its premiere on Sept. 4.
Train enthusiast Francis Bourgeois, who has showcased his passion for trains in numerous videos, joins YouTube creators James Engelsman and Thomas Holland as the new hosts. Engelsman and Holland are the co-creators of the popular YouTube channel Throttle House. Together, the trio takes over the motoring show that commands thousands of followers worldwide.
The trailer lasts barely one minute, showing that Prime Video does not intend to reinvent the format. Instead, the streaming platform is keeping the core essence that turned the series into one of the most popular motoring shows in the world.
Show format and presenter lineup
The initial footage highlights classic elements of the series, including spectacular roads, global scenery, supercars, extreme challenges, and British humor. The new hosts demonstrate a willingness to get into trouble to deliver each episode.
Amazon originally launched The Grand Tour after the BBC dismissed Jeremy Clarkson. Amazon signed Clarkson alongside co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May. The previous trio concluded their run with the special episode One for the Road in September 2024, ending a line-up known for unmatched onscreen chemistry.
Rather than attempting to imitate their predecessors, Bourgeois, Holland, and Engelsman bring their own personalities to the show while preserving the signature adventures that define the series.
