A Russian tourist was arrested and fined in Egypt after accidentally touching a woman on a hotel dance floor in Sharm El-Sheikh. Sergey Mironov, a 61-year-old locksmith from Samara Oblast in Russia, was taken into custody by local police following a complaint by the woman's husband.
The incident has triggered widespread concern among Russian holidaymakers planning vacations in Egyptian resorts. According to the Telegram channel Krysha TurDoma, the case has sparked intense discussion on social media, with women instructing their husbands to avoid all contact with local women during their trip, even if attempting to render assistance, out of fear that their spouses could face imprisonment.

Mironov arrived in Egypt on August 4 accompanied by his wife, Tatyana. The couple checked into the five-star Renaissance Sharm El Sheikh Golden View Beach Resort for their vacation. During an evening entertainment event organized by hotel animators, guests were invited onto the dance floor, where Mironov accidentally brushed against an Arab woman.
The accidental contact enraged the woman's husband, who physically assaulted Mironov with his fists. Hotel staff intervened to separate the two men, after which Mironov and his wife retired to their hotel room for the evening.
Police Arrest and Court Fine
Later that night, police officers arrived at Mironov's room and took him into custody. The arrest was executed on the basis of a formal statement submitted by the Arab man, citing statutory provisions against indecent acts committed toward a woman.
Following his detention, an Egyptian court partially acquitted Mironov of the charge and ordered him to pay a monetary fine.
